“I have stored a large amount of HD movies in my computer hard drive. But they really have taken too much spaces. So I want to convert them to DVD discs to free up my hard drive and also allows me to watch them through DVD player. Can you recommend me a good to use DVD burning software? Or do you have other good ideas?”
HD means High Definition, and the resolution of HD videos can reach 1280×1080. And these videos always have rich color reproduction and high quality audio effect. So with the more and more popularization of HD videos recent years, many people will prefer HD videos rather than other common ones. And the HD videos we have got are always downloaded from video online site, recorded by cameras and camcorders, purchased from online stores. However, these HD videos always have large size, and they have taken too much storage space of our computer hard drive. Then, the problem just like we have mentioned above exists.
To solve this problem, we must make sense of two points. First, whether you only want to free up the hard drive space to choose to put the videos on DVD disc. If so, actually you can select data disc. This kind of DVD disc allows you to transfer your HD videos to disc via easily copy and paste, and you don’t need to convert the formats. But the disadvantage is you can play the DVD through DVD player. Here I still want to give you an advice. Since the capacity of DVD is limited, for example the DVD-5 and DVD-9 which are most common in our life, their capacity are about 4.5 G and 8.5 G. If you really have many HD format videos, actually DVD disc is not the best choice. Maybe you can save them on an external hard drive, or use the cloud service.
Next, if you make sure you want to burn these HD videos to DVD disc in order to play them through DVD player. Here I have to mention that the quality of your HD videos will be greatly lost, only if you burn them to a Blu-Ray DVD. That is because DVD is coded in MPEG-2, its maximum resolution is 720×567 or 720×480. But if you don’t mind the quality loss, or you don’t have a blu-ray DVD player, here I can recommend you a very good to use DVD burning software, Leawo DVD Creator.
This is a powerful program which can support all most all the HD and SD video formats like MTS/M2TS/TS/TP/TRP(AVCHD, H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2 HD), WMV, ASF, 3GP, 3G2, DVR-MS, AVI, MP4, RMVB, RM, MPG, MPEG, VOB, MOV, QT,FLV, F4V, NSV, MKV, etc. And you don’t need to convert them to common formats before burning just like some other softwares. And its build-in editor allows you to personalize and touch up your videos and make wonderful DVD menus to your DVD. It still has the feature to convert your 2D HD videos to 3D effects! Besides, you can select output video quality like Low, Medium and High. Although the the HD video quality will be reduced, it will try best to produce a wonderful DVD fro you!
