Four way to shut down the computer based on Windows 8 with Ease
I purchased the Windows 8.1 and after a period of time I found that there exists many differences between Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. Especially when I want to shut my computer down, it is really inconvenient. For the convenience of many new Windows 8.1 users, here I list four useful tricks to help adapt to the new Windows quickly and let you shut your computer easily. I am sure you will love it!
1: Power off - Alt + F4
After installing the Windows 8.1, you will find that Microsoft use the metro interface to replace the previous start menu, as a result, It's always tricky to find the shutdown menu to shut down your computer. In order to solve this problem, you can use the shortcut keys… “Alt + F4: Back to the desktop, press the ALT+ F4 key and select “shut down” option to shut down the computer.
2: Power off – Win+ I
Well, the second shortcut is “Win + I”. No matter what you are doing, if you want to turn your PC off quickly, you can directly press “Win + I” and hit the “Power” button to shut your computer down. (See chart)
3: Power off – Create a desktop Shortcut
If you do not want to use the shortcut key every time, why not create a desktop shortcut? Back to the desktop, right click, move the mouse arrow to New and select Shortcut. Then type “shutdown.exe -s -t 00” into the box, after that rename the shortcut as you like and hit “Finish” to complete the process.
Note: if you want to create a restart shortcut, type shutdown.exe -r -t 00 into the blank box instead of shutdown.exe -s -t 00
4: Power off- Add Shutdown button on Metro Interface
However, every man has his hobbyhorse. If you are the one who like metro interface and want to add shutdown button on Metro interface, you can do it as below: First, create a desktop shortcut according to the guide 3, then right click on it and choose Pin to start, after that there will be a shutdown button in your Metro interface.
