Problem:

"I have taken a load of photos and videos using my iPad 4 recently. When I plugged the iPad 4 into my laptop to transfer these picture & video shoots onto local hard drive, I got two options, “Set up as a new iPad” and “Restore from backup of previous device”, and I selected the former, after that, all pictures, videos, notes, safari bookmarks and calendar on my iPad 4 were gone. I’d appreciate it very much If any one can give me a practical method to recover these accidently deleted files from my iPad 4."

Solution:

As the iOS running on the iPad is a closed mobile operating system, common recovery tools can’t access and scan the iOS storage media. To get your iPad deleted files back, you will need an iPad-specific file recovery tool.

Leawo iOS Data Recovery enables you to undelete any iPad files including pictures, videos, music, notes, calendar, safari bookmarks, etc, and works well with iPad 4, iPad mini, iPad 3 (The New iPad), iPad 2 and iPad 1. The following guide will show you how to use Leawo iOS Data Recovery to recover deleted files from iPad.

  1. Free download and install Leawo iOS Data Recovery.
  2. Connect the iPad to your computer. Enter this program, then you will see two buttons, “Recover from iOS Device” and “Recover from iTunes Backup”, in the center of the program home screen. If you never back up the content on your iPad using iTunes or your iTunes backup file does not contain the files you recently deleted, just click the “Recover from iOS Device” button to let this program to scan the hard drive of your iPad for deleted files. If your deleted files exist in your iTunes backup file, you’d better click the “Recover from iTunes Backup” button because it will be faster and more accurate to retrieve them from iTunes backup.
  3. Then the program starts scanning the iPad device or iTunes backup that was holding your removed files, and finally lists all files it found by category.
  4. Find the files you’ve deleted by file type and name, and click Recover button to save them onto your computer. You are allowed to preview the recoverable files before restoring them by the way.
