The iPlayer is an online television and radio service released in 2007 by BBC. The BBC iPlayer has been a huge success in UK even the world, and been the most influencial internet video service brand developed by traditional media. Users can watch or listen the last 7 days of BBC TV & Radio through the iPlayer, even download TV programmes to local hard drive for watching later using the BBC iPlayer Desktop.

However, the downloaded BBC iPlayer video files will self destruct after 30 days because they are encypted by Microsoft's DRM scheme. If you want to keep BBC iPlayer videos on your computer permanently, convert downloaded BBC iPlayer videos to BBC-incompatible mobiles or tablets such as iPad, iPod touch, Galaxy tab, Kindle Fire, etc., or burn iPlayer programs to DVD, you will need to strip BBC's iPlayer DRM protection. Here's how:

Step 1: Download the Aimersoft DRM Media Converter for free, and install it to your computer. The Aimersoft DRM Media Converter lets you remove DRM from BBC iPlayer by re-encoding the protected video files to open file formats like .mp4, .avi, .mov, .wmv, .mkv, .mpeg2(DVD format), and more. It also can remove the FairPlay DRM from iTunes video-audio purchases. Learn more about this software...

Step 2: Import your protected iPlayer files. Run the DRM removing software. Then click "Add Video" icon to import one or more BBC iPlayer downloaded files to the software. You can also simply drag and drop the target files to the software's main window to load them.

Step 3: Select output format. Move your cursor to the "Video files to:" drop-down list and click it to open the conversion profile panel, and then you will see a number of file formats available on the panel. Just select the right one depending on your needs. For example, if your purpose is to transfer iPlayer video clips to your iPod touch, you may choose the MP4 or MOV as output format. If you'd like to burn iPlayer programmes to DVD-R/RW discs, you will need to choose the MPEG-2.

Step 4: Start the conversion. After finishing all the settings, back to the main window and hit the "Start" button to start converting the protected source files to the DRM-free file format. The conversion speed is super fast because the Aimersoft DRM Media Converter adopts the GPU Acceleration technology.
