This post mainly talks about how to encode/re-encode videos & audios purchased from iTunes to Blackberry Bold 9900, Bold 9930 and Bold 9790 which employ the Blackberry 7 OS. I write this article because every time i turn around in the subway or the ariport, i will always see some people watching video on their Blackberry Blod series smartphone. To be honest, i don't think the BB Bold phone's 640x480-pixel (or 480x360-pixel) screen is suitable for viewing video, but i'm sure some people are doing this. Well, in this case, why not make the iTunes, which is currently the biggest digital media store, become the movies and music source of the Blackberry Blod series phones. Of course, the premise is the Blackberry user is also an iTunes user.

One thing you should know is that all the iTunes purchased videos and audiobooks are in the DRM-copy-protected M4V and M4B/AA file format, and the songs/albums bought via iTunes before 2009 are also DRMed. To play such protected files on the Blackberry Blod phone, you will have to break the copyright protection using a third party software.

Here i highly recommend the Aimersoft DRM Media Converter to do this work. This little software enables you to directly convert the DRM-protected iTunes video/audio purchases to a wide range of Non-DRM file formats like MP4, WMV, AVI, MKV, 3GP, FLV, MP3, WMA, MAV, OGG, FLAC, etc. With it, all the media files included in the iTunes would work for your Blackberry Bold phones. Followings are the steps of converting iTunes media files into the proper format for Blackberry Bold phones using the Aimersoft DRM Media Converter:

Step 1: Free download Aimersoft DRM Media Converter and install it on your computer.

Step 2: Launch this software. Click the "Add Video" button at the top left corner of the screen, then simply select one or more file(s) from your iTunes folder on your computer and click Open to load it(them).

Step 3: Click the "Video files to" drop-down list, then select the optimized conversion preset "Blackberry -> Bold series" as output format. (if the source file is audio, just click the "Audio files to" drop-down list to select a suitable audio output format). In addition, you can click the "Settings" button to open the profile settings window where you can reset the parameters like Bit rate, Frame rate, Resolution, Encode, etc. to personalize the output file's quality.

Step 4: Click "Browse" button and set the output path and click the light blue "Start" button. When the conversion process completes, you can find out the converted file in the output folder and transfer it to your Blackberry Bold phone for playing. That's it.
