Sony announced its first virtual reality headset PlayStation VR in March 2016, besides providing a brand new virtual-reality gameplay experiences, this headset allows customers enjoying 360° VR videos and brings an entirely new way of experience videos.
Unlike the traditional video, the 360° video downloaded from PlayStation®Store can be viewed in different angles and gives us an illusion that we are actually inside the film. In addition to 360° VR videos, we can also use PlayStation VR to watch our local videos such as iTunes media purchases, DVDs, Amazon Instant Video and more via our PS 4. Although the effect is not as good as 360 degrees video, the effect is far beyond watching them on a computer or TV. The rest of this article will focus on watching local iTunes media purchases with Sony PlayStation VR.
As Sony specified that PlayStation VR could only collocate with PS 4, we should convert our iTunes media purchases to PS 4 supported video formats like MP4, MKV or others first. Below are some video & audio formats that are supported by Sony PlayStation 4:
Now our first task is to get iTunes media purchases converted to MP4. However, it’s not always so simple because the iTunes Media Purchases download form iTunes are copyright protected. In other words, these .m4v files purchased form iTunes are protected from being copied & converted and played on PS 4. Does it sound a bit complicated?
Don’t worry about that, Aimersoft DRM Media Converter can help get DRM-protected files converted to PS 4 supported MP4 with ease, and the reason I recommended Aimersoft DRM media converter to help free your video library is that it not only can legally bypass any digital copyright protection from M4V, WMV and ASF video that downloaded from iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Zune Marketplace and more. but also convert them to over various of popular widely used video formats with fast speed and excellent output quality. Step 2: Add source video to this iTunes to MP4 conversion software
Click on at the upper left corner of its home screen. Navigate to the folder that contains your iTunes media purchases and select one you want. In addition, you are allowed to imports several videos at a time because of batch conversions.
Step 3: Select MP4 as the output format for PS 4
Click “Video files to” drop-down list to select MP4 Video from Common Video for PS4. If the original M4V file is a HD video, select HD MP4 Video from HD video instead. Although this converter has offered optimized Sony PlayStation conversion presets that include PS3 and PS3 HD, MP4 video are still the best choice as I think the presets for PS 3 will not work well for PS 4.
Step 4: Start M4V to MP4 Conversion
Once you have all settings done, just hit the “Start” button to let Aimersoft DRM Media Converter get your iTunes Media purchases converted to MP4 video. (By the way, the DRM attached to original m4V file will be removed while converting). Once the converting process completes, sync these MP4 video to your PS 4. That’s it.
