"I lost my iPhone 5, and now I’ve got a new Nokia smartphone. I know iTunes will automatically back up my iPhone data as some unreadable binary files every time I sync my iPhone to computer, so how can I extract my contacts, music, pictures, bookmarks, and other data from the iTunes backup files? Where the iTunes backup files are stored in?"

  1. Free download Leawo iOS data recovery. This program features an iTunes backup extractor which enables you to extract 12 file types (contact, SMS, MMS, call history, note, calendar, reminder, safari bookmark, voice memo, picture, video, and audio) from the backup of iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, and an iOS device disk recovery which is capable of recovering the lost data which were not backed up via iTunes.
  2. Start the program. Click on the Recover from iTunes Backup button, and the program will start searching for your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch backup files on your computer, so you don’t need to know where the iTunes backup files are kept.
  3. After the search is completed, you can select the backup of your iDevice by the name, then click Scan button. This program will convert any of these binary backup files out to an accessible file when it encounters them.
  4. After the program completes its task, it will classify the extracted data into 12 file types, and display them to you finally. You are allowed to preview them.
  5. Click the Recover button to save the files you want onto your computer. The text contents can be saved as .CSV, .VCF and .HTML format so that you can open them in Excel, Outlook Express and web browser.

P.s. Although Leawo iOS Data Recovery does not need users to find their iTunes backup files on computer manually, I still offer the store path of the iTunes backup on Windows below:

Windows 8: Users>USERNAME>AppData>Roaming>Apple Computer>MobileSync>Backup
Windows 7: C:\Users\User name\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
